Privacy
Cedarlane Incentives Inc. ("we") collects certain details on ev-rebate.ca. This notice explains what those details are, why they are gathered, and what requests you may make about them. How we handle them is governed by PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act), a federal privacy law. For anyone visiting from Quebec, Law 25, the Quebec statute on personal data held by private businesses, applies as well.
Information We Collect
- For a dealer price request: the car you asked about, your first name, your email address, your postal code, and when you plan to buy.
- While you are on the site: the finder answers you pick, the pages you open, any clicks that take you to other sites, and what kind of device you use. The counting is done by code on the site itself. No analytics or advertising service from outside is used, and no cookie is placed.
- Stored in your browser only: the finder saves the province you picked, using your browser's local storage, and that never leaves your device.
Uses of Your Information
Up to three dealers near your postal code receive your request, and they can then email you a price for that car. Counts of how people use the site show us which pages and answers work for them, so we can fix the rest. We never sell your information.
Emails From Dealers
The emails from dealers cover only the car you asked about, since you asked. Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires every email to let you unsubscribe.
How Long It Is Kept
A dealer price request is kept only while we pass it on and answer questions about it, and is then deleted. No names or emails are attached to the site use counts we keep.
Your Rights
You may request a copy of the details held on you at any time, ask for fixes or erasure, or withdraw your consent. Write to our privacy officer at mail@ev-rebate.ca or 100 King Street West, Suite 5700, Toronto, ON M5X 1C7. This person is in charge of personal information at Cedarlane Incentives Inc. You will get our answer within 30 days. If you are still not happy, a complaint can be filed with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, in Quebec, with the Commission d'accès à l'information.
