Federal rebate rules

  • A price cap of $50,000 before tax applies; cars built in Canada carry no cap.
  • Country of origin: Canada, or a country with which Canada has a trade deal.
  • Claiming it: sign a single consent form at a dealer signed up for the program, and the dealer subtracts the rebate from the bill.
  • Lease terms: the full amount applies when the lease lasts 48 months (4 years) or more.
  • One rebate limit: each person can receive one rebate.

Kia EV4 Rebate Questions

Does the Kia EV4 qualify under Canada's EV rebate?

Yes, it does. Transport Canada's EVAP list covers 10 trims of the Kia EV4. The dealer deducts $5,000 from the 2026 EV4 Light priced at $38,995, provided the final price before tax is $50,000 or less.

What is the Kia EV4 price after rebates in each province?

Quebec takes off another $2,000, bringing the price to $31,995. Manitoba takes off another $4,000, bringing it to $29,995. With only the federal rebate, the 2026 EV4 Light costs $33,995 everywhere else.

How will January 1, 2027 affect the Kia EV4 price?

On that day, EVAP drops to $4,000. The 2026 EV4 Light then costs $34,995, compared with $33,995 in 2026. The year your dealer submits the rebate claim determines the amount, rather than the day you take delivery.

Can you still get the rebate with a Kia EV4 lease?

Yes, it does. A lease lasting at least 48 months earns the full $5,000. A 36-month term earns $3,750, a 24-month term earns $2,500, and a 12-month term earns $1,250. For a purchase, the dealer deducts it the same way.
