How the federal rebate rules work
- Price limit: $50,000 before tax; cars built in Canada have no limit.
- Manufacturing location: The car must be made in Canada or a country with a trade agreement with Canada.
- Claim process: Sign one consent form at a dealer registered for the program. The dealer then deducts the rebate from your bill.
- Leases: the full amount applies to leases of 48 months (4 years) or more.
- One per person: every person is limited to a single rebate.
