Federal rebate rules
- Before tax, the price must stay at $50,000 or less, though cars built in Canada are exempt from that ceiling.
- Origin: Canada, or a country with a trade agreement with Canada.
- To receive the rebate, sign one consent form at a dealer registered for the program. The dealer then subtracts the rebate from the bill.
- Leases of 48 months (4 years) or longer qualify for the full amount.
- One rebate is available per person, so each person can receive one.
